March 21 - 24
Our Professional Development Day was yesterday and was very producutive. Staff went over our school education plan and worked on our AISI project as well. We also reviewed our school behaviour plan.
Division Two is skating this week. Students will need to bring skates, a helmet and gloves. This is their PE for the week, so all students are required to participate.
Grade fives started a novel study last week. Each group is reading a different book based on their reading level. Students will be required to finish their novels and all assignments by the end of the month. Assignment requirements are written in the front of each student's literature circle book.
Students are really getting in to their science unit of electricity. A lot of this unit will be hands-on assignments that can only be done in class. We will be building on ideas and concepts daily, so it is very important for students to be here. There will be a final project - the electric car. More information on this will be coming out next week. Cars do not need to be elaborate. Students will be marked on circuits and how well the car moves, not how fancy it looks. They are required to use recycled materials - no car kits allowed.
I will be attending a French workshop on Thursday with Miss. Hart. It is looking at the new french curriculum for division two.
Have a great week!
