April 3 - 7

We have a field trip for the whole school to the Round-Up Center on April 6th! Aggie Days was brought to our attention by our fantastic librarian Mrs. Potter. It will give the kids to chance to learn some things and/or show off exisiting knowledge. This is an all day field trip, and students will be carrying their backpacks, so pack light!

On Wednesday three of our classmates will be attending the Calgary Regional Science Fair to present their projects. Congratulations to Payson, Kyron and Randy.

The week at a glance...

LA - Students should have finished their novel study last week. Most students have been very successful with this. We will be focussing on sentences (complex and compound) this week. We hope to increase students' strategies for combining sentences and improving fluency.

Math - Measurement unit test is on Tuesday! A study sheet came home last Thursday so that students could ensure they understood all the concepts covered. If anyone has questions about particular concepts, please make sure you ask me on Monday.

Science - Students have now received their electric car order sheet. Please note that you are NOT required to purchase things from this list. The school has some supplies that students may borrow for the project and return afterwards. You can also get some of these supplies from many retail stores. Cars are NOT to be made at home, but students should be collecting supplies they will need. Cars should be made of recycled or found materials, no car-kits are allowed.

French 4/5 - students have started their new unit on La Famille. Please try to get some photos together this week for students to use in their family tree projects that we will be working on next week.

Any questions? Please let me know. Have a great week!
